I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
3 months ago I weighed 137 now I am down to 124 lbs. I have done nothing different really other then not eating or drinking sugar. Do you think this can be a cause for my unexplained weight loss I haven't weighed this amount since I was 15 and now I am 26. I have been laying around the house for 6 months due to not having a job and watching my children, I'd think I would be gaining weight b/c I get no exercise. What do you think?I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
Sugars negative effects on the liver and kidney can cause people who do not increase calories to gain weight as well as retain alot of water.
My guess is that since you cut it out of your diet, you probably lost alot of water that your body was retaining in order to help your organs dilute the sugar. Since you are no longer consuming sugar, you no longer need to retain the extra water.I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
The fact that you are losing weight while on zoloft is interesting as it normally causes people to gain weight.
People start becoming insulin resistant prior to becoming diabetic (diabetes is an extreme case of insulin resistance), and it is the high levels of insulin in the body that cause people to gain weight. This is why people who are type 2 diabetic and take insulin often gain even more weight. Until the high levels of insulin in their body are corrected, most people find it difficult if not impossible to lose weight.
Sounds like you might have reversed the insulin resistance and gotten the cells to be insulin sensitive again.
Are you also on a low carb diet? That usually helps with insulin problems.
Yes it is quite possible that you have lost about 1lb a week if you have cut out sugar. It is also possible if your blood sugar levels are not controlled well then that might be the cause. Check your glucose levels and if they are high you need to talk to your doctor about it. It would probably help you control your diabetes if you got some exercise why not take the kids for a walk or to the park and play ball, you may even lose some more weight and may be able to control your diabetes by diet alone. Good luck and well done on the weight loss.

Are you checking your glucose levels? or just not drinking sugars? and are you doing anything about the starchy carbohydrates in your food plan or just eating them?
I recommend you go see your doctor if you aren't checking your glucose levels, eating a very low carb food plan and exercising! The unexplained weight loss is NOT in control of your glucose levels!
Most probably, your weight loss is due to your effective diet control and on zoloft for correcting the chemical imbalance in the brain. If you feel more comfortable with 124 lbs., then why worry about it? For your peace of mind, please see a doctor for more consultations. Good luck to you and God bless.
Yes, it certainly could be. You need to go visit the doctor again and have your blood sugar tested. It could just be from cutting out sugar - but you should go get checked. Do you test your own blood sugar? If not, you should be doing that. You might need to adjust your meds.
Exercise and eating right can totally REVERSE type 2 diabetes.
maybe 124 is a better weight for you.

I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
Vitamin B supplements... L-carnitine and exercise.I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
Plenty of exercise and frequently.I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
colonic irrigation
I suggest that you do the 6 o'clock diet.
Don't eat anything (except drinking water) after 6pm
since your body doesn't work that much after that time so you don't have enough activities to burn your calories for the day.
Also, eat fruits and vegetables.
Fiber helps eliminate waste and makes you lose your weight.
Likewise, instead of eating nachos for snack, try to eat fruits (pineapple, mango, apple, etc.)
Walking is also a good exercise.
Try walking around every morning.
If the place you're going to is near, try to walk from your home.
Or you may walk part of it then take a ride after (if it is really far).
It might be difficult at first, but it's all worth it.
:)
Try eating more negative calories food. They are food which contain so few calories that your body will burn more calories just for digesting them.
At least eat food consisting of negative calories ingredients for lunch or dinner once a day.
Here's my negative calories sandwich recipe:
'; Ingredients:
100 grams of cooked chicken fillet. Cut it so that it can be fitted into sandwiches.
2 slices of whole wheat bread. Slice it diagonally.
Four slices of tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes vertically, each cut is around 0.5cm in thickness
1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
4 tablespoons of low fat mayonnaise
2 slices of cucumber. Peel the cucumber and remove both end. Then slice it.
1 teaspoon of chopped celery
1 teaspoon of olive oil
3 tablespoons of plain low fat yogurt
Salt, pepper and tomato ketchup to taste
Instructions:
Sprinkle the cooked chicken fillet with salt and pepper. Then mix the yogurt, mayonnaise and lemon juice in a bowl. Dip each chicken pieces into the dressing mix before putting it on the bread. Then arrange the cucumber, tomatoes and celery on the bread neatly. Last, sprinkle it with the olive oil and the remaining of the dressing. ';
Remember a diet will help you loose weight but when finished it will pile back on again - you need to completely change you eating plan for ever.
excersize and drinking lots of water.
p.s. negative calories dont exist. its marketing
exercise. increase your activity

Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
Hi there. I just began taking Paxil CR (Controlled Release) 12.5.
I was wondering if anyone can share their personal experiences with Paxil CR in regards to their appetite?
Did it make you hungrier? Did you eat more?
Did it decrease your appetite? Did you loose weight?
If anyone can share I would love to know.
Thanks.Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
I gained - a lot.
no control over cravings....
I'm tapering off now....
good luck.Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
yeah i take it and have for quite awhile....you will notice no difference at all!
i take 20 mg of paxil a day in the morning, i have't noticed any extreme side affect, i felt happier within the first week, i feel almost giddy and happy all the time now and I find myself laughing a lot more, it's a great med, i don't know if i gained any weight, my clothes fit stll, so if i did it was a little
In general, when you take psychotropic medication, it is a good idea to also exercise. If you are not used to exercising, it can be simply taking a 30-minute walk (or two 15-minute ones). If not daily, then 3-4 times a week. Just stay active. Cleaning the house counts, as well. Physical activities, like walking, exercising, or riding a bike complement the drug and helps your mental well-being.
I tried to Google and find you an answer. There is a lot of information out there. So much so, that all that I can recommend is that you talk to your pharamsist and request a list of side-effects that Paxil-CR might have. And you may even ask them to explain it. (As well, read the insert. If anybody should know, then it would be the manufacturer.) I did see something, on various sites, about weight changes. From personal experience, I took Paxil many years ago, and I didn't notice a severe weight gain.
That is not the case with the medication that I currently take. All I have to say, is that I wish the Psychiatrist would have warned me about the increase in appetite, so that when the urge to snack hits 20-30 minutes after I take my medication, I could've been prepared to ignore it.
I hope that this will work out for you. Good luck!
I take Paxil. You might gain just a few pounds.I gained 3 pounds .No big deal. And it doesnt make me pig out.I take 10 mgs. once a day.Dont worry too much!! Take Care

The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?

If this is 'progress' then whats the springboard for government-run healthcare, off-track betting? The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?
Why, you have a point there, Oblio! If we followed the republican approach, GM would have been bankrupted, sold off, shut down and out of business.
Instead, they used a brief bankruptcy to clean house, took a much smaller loss than in previous quarters, and their plan to return to profitability is on track and measurable. And they will begin repaying their loan next year. The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?
Everyone should know by now that this administration is bassackwards. Jobs created has turned into jobs saved, apologize and bow to terrorist, no more terrorist only democratically challenged, no more war on terror and the cops act stupidly among a never ending list of stupid liberal tricks. Obama has brought you change, change from logical and intelligent thinking and reasoning to rampant stupidity and political correctness. If we can ever get this crew gone liberalism should be made a capital offense.
This administration spins everything like a ballerina. As for ';numbers line';...a loss is a LOSS.
Show a profit or get the hell out of the business.
This is OUR money they are losing now.
Doesn't he usually say things like ';Loss is progress?'; And have thousands of liberals going ';Uh huh!'; and shaking their heads in agreement?
You libs! Still taking up for this loser, i don't care if GM showed a loss for 30 years. Back then my tax dollars weren't being used to prop it up and keep the bleeding unions viable!!!!!
To liberals, if a train going 100mph toward a cliff slows to 50mph toward a cliff......that is progress.
Yes, they think rising unemployment is an improvement too.
Yes, in fact Orwell predicted this sort of thing in his novel _1984_ it is what he called ';double-speak';.
So you would only be happy with GM's performance if they showed a profit, even though they have been showing losses for 30+ years?
It's a smaller loss.
Did you have problems with the Number Line in grade school?

Fed controls the interest rates by increasing and decreasing the money supply but does it not incurr a loss...
in the process. For example if Fed wants to increase the rate to 5% and to do that it starts selling T-bills starting at the market rate of 4.75% until the rate touches 5%. So, in a way Fed raised money at higher than the market rates. Who will pay for the difference? Does the Fed have enough investment opportunities where it could earm more than 5%? and if not who bears this loss every time Fed enters the money market with an intent to influence the interest rates.Fed controls the interest rates by increasing and decreasing the money supply but does it not incurr a loss...
The Fed does lose money in that specific case, however its overall operations cover the cost. In addition, the Fed is a peculiar not for profit organization. It has a statutory limit on its profitability. Any excess profit is returned to the Treasury. In addition to its lending activity the Fed charges fees for services just like other banks.Fed controls the interest rates by increasing and decreasing the money supply but does it not incurr a loss...
The first answer you got on this question is really good. If you are so focused on money supply, I am guessing you are too focused on reading texts from the 70s and early/mid 80s. Money supply is not really considered to be a worthy indicator or tool anymore...however, it WAS considered very important in the later 70s and early/mid 80s. EVERYONE waited to hear how M1, M2, M3 were doing. In more modern economic theory, money supply has kind of fallen by the wayside.
The central banking authority uses it as a weapon to control credit. That is the money in circulation and the excess money with banks for lending is reduced than the banks will have to restrict their lending. Federal bank is not a commercial bank but it is the controlling bank- controlling the economy of the country and inflation has to be controlled at any cost.
The Fed's influence on interest rates is largely limited to their increases and decreases in the Fed Funds rate--the rate that banks charge one another for loans. If they raise this rate, banks will lend less money, slowing the economy.
This is completely separate from the Fed issuing bonds at prevailing market rates to meet the bloated goverment budget and repay maturing bonds.

Nandigram is now controlled. But it was a great loss to NG as well as WB not building up industries.Do u agree?
I don't think so. Imagine the coast line from TN to WB. Can you tell the nos of ports functioning there in. Why cann't we develop more ports and the earning be shared in the manner of Tax revenue to the States involved. If ports are to be developped along the coast , industries needs to be developped near the source of Rawmaterial and In between area has to be developped for Agriculture.remedy blackheads

Is there anything which can accelerate weight loss when on a calorie controlled diet?
ExerciseIs there anything which can accelerate weight loss when on a calorie controlled diet?
The less salt you intake the less water your body will retain. Most people get several times as much salt per day as their body needs but your body stores it in case of emergency.
Eating several meals a day, up to 6, can make your body feel that it's in paradise and that there's no need to store fat. That's why starvation diets are so faulty, your body shuts down and begins to store fat since it's response to lack of nutrition is to prepare for even worse.
Exercise is very important, not just the calories you burn while exercising but muscle burns more calories than fat so you get a double benefit. Weight training is the most efficient way to build more muscle but it may not be part of your program. Dance, yoga, aerobics, treadmills are all good substitutes. The more muscle you have the more calories you'll burn even when you sit still or are sleeping.
Eat as many greens as you want since they're low calorie and filling. Fruit is okay but limit fruit juice if it's sweetened. Drink lots of water, you don't need 8 glasses a day but when you diet you can drink that much. Too much of anything is a bad idea, though, even water.
For protein you can hard boil eggs and just eat the whites, that's very low in calories for the protein you receive. Again, the less salt you consume the faster you'll lose weight, especially in the short term.

The Birth Control Seasonique (I don't think I spelled it right) and Alli weight loss pills????
I am wondering if I can take them at the same time? I take my birth control in the morning and I wanted to start the Alli weight loss pill, but I am not sure if the weight loss pill will negativly effect my birth control? The birth control is more important. I am on a regular diet and exercise plan, but I wanted to try Alli to see if the results are as good as people claim they are? I want to know if they work together or not??? If there are any web sites you can post that would be helpful? The Birth Control Seasonique (I don't think I spelled it right) and Alli weight loss pills????
Looks like your spelling is correct. There are an amazing amount of interactions for Seasonique but not with alli as far as I can see. Seasonique contains two ingredients:
ethinyl estradiol
levonorgestrel
Check the interactions checker at drugs.com to confirm. The Birth Control Seasonique (I don't think I spelled it right) and Alli weight loss pills????
According to Alli's website (message boards), Alli does NOT interfere with birth control. Hopefully, that's correct.

How do birth control pills work? Do they cause contact lens intolerance, weight gain, and loss of libido?
Do you take ';the pill';? Do they cause strokes, heart attacks, weight gain, acne, contact lens intolerance. Do they cause people with depression to get more depressed and cry all the time? There was an old episode of Third Rock From the Sun where the lady starts on the pill and becomes all ';psycho';..crying and laughing and angry. It was supposed to be funny, but does this have any basis in reality? I had a friend that got a birth control shot. She had always been extremely thin. She gained 40-60 lbs within a few months. I knew another girl who had always had a slim athletic build. She took it and she went up a pants size and ';filled out'; with more body fat (hips and breasts). Also, does the pill block the small amount of testosterone that women have, therefore making them less able to build muscle or have a libido? What's the point of being on the pill if you have no libido? I already have a low libido, 99% of the time. If you know anything or have taken the pill, please share....How do birth control pills work? Do they cause contact lens intolerance, weight gain, and loss of libido?
Birth control pills are a synthetic form of the hormones progesterone and estrogen. They prevent ovulation by maintaining more consistent hormone levels. Without a peak in estrogen, then, the ovary doesn't get the signal to release an egg. No egg means no possibility for fertilization and pregnancy. They also thicken cervical mucus so the sperm cannot reach the egg, and make the lining of the uterus unreceptive to the implantation of a fertilized egg.
Some common minor side effects of birth control pills can include some mild nausea when first starting birth control pills, spotting or breakthrough bleeding, breast tenderness, mood changes, decreased sex drive, weight gain, cervical changes and vaginal discharge.
Some rare but serious side effects can include blood clots, abdominal pain, chest pain (also shortness of breath), headaches (especially those that are new, severe, or associated with persistent dizziness, difficulty speaking, fainting, numbness or weakness in extremities), eye problems (blurred vision or loss of vision), severe leg pain (and/or redness and swelling in the calf or thigh), high blood pressure, liver tumors, breast cancer risk or cervical cancer risk.
I would recommend that if you are thinking of starting to take the pill that you discuss it with your doctor, he/she will best be able to advise which type/brand of the pill will be suitable for you and discuss with you any side effects you might experience if starting birth control pills.
Good luck :)
How do birth control pills work? Do they cause contact lens intolerance, weight gain, and loss of libido?
I have 2 friends who gained a ton of weight on the shot, too. Not thank you to that!
The pill is a combination of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, and they keep you eggs from being released by your ovaries. I've been on ortho-tri cyclen for the past 9 years, and I've never had any of those problems. There is a risk of stoke, but it's very minimal, especially in non-smokers. Contact lens intolerance? I don't have contacts, but hmmm, never heard of that. The weight gain/loss with the pill, I believe, is also minimal. Like +/- 5 pounds. I personally lost 5. Unlike you, I've always had a high libido, and the pill never seemed to lower it.
As long as you can be responsible about remembering to take it everyday, I would highly recommend the pill. My periods are way lighter, only last 3-4 days, and I pretty much never have cramps. And it's cheap too! You can get the generic (Tri-Spintec) at Walmart for only $9 if you don't have insurance. There have been 2 times in the past 9 years that I gone without the pill for a month, and it was hellish. I had forgotten how bad the cramps could be, and how heavy my periods were without it.
i'm on Yaz, and my doctor said it doesn't cause weight gain (and i haven't gained weight). most pill birth controls don't make you gain weight (i asked my doctor and she said it did in the 1950s, but the pill does not make you gain weight now). so if your friends are gaining weight it is probably psychological or from something else. the pill tricks your body into thinking you're already pregnant, so the sperm can't fertilize the egg. also, most birth control pills make you have lighter cramps and help with acne. if you smoke the pill is bad for your heart though. i don't know why, but it says it on the package.
Hello there
Basically what the pill does is it stops your ovaries from releasing an egg so that if you have sex there is not one there to be fertilised. The reason this is not 100% effective is because sometimes you can release more than one egg a month or two at a time. Secondly they increase the thickness of the discharge that you have in your vagina, this is to make it difficult for any sperm to get through.
Yes they can make you gain weight. Im not 100% on the other symtoms but im assuming they because they mess a little with your hormones that it is likely they could cause most of those things. If you are not sure, every pill packet should come with a leaflet. I dont take the pill now but i used to take microgynon and had no problem with it. Then i switched to cerazette which is a mini pill and i had no period for 9 months, my hair started to fall out and i got very depressed. Now i rely solely on condoms. I know these are not 100% all the time but im willing to take that chance and i am prepared for any consequences for the sake of my health. I dont believe that anything about the pill is healthy. If you are wanting to know about a certain type of pill you can look it up online im sure, or just at side effects in general.

Is hair loss a more likely side effect of Yasmin than of other birth control pill brands?
I've been on the Pill for about a year now (I was on Cilest, then Marvelon, then Dianette.) The reason for switching between brands was that the first two pills gave me acne, which Dianette then cleared up. However I've now been told to switch to Yasmin as I can't stay on Dianette much longer for health reasons, and I am concerned about doing this as have read a lot online saying that people have suffered hair loss as a side effect of Yasmin. I'm not sure if this is just as likely on Yasmin as it is on other brands of the pill (ie. if I was going to suffer this on the pill, I would have done so already) or whether this side effect is more common on Yasmin. Does anyone know?Is hair loss a more likely side effect of Yasmin than of other birth control pill brands?
I know that I lost hair taking OrthoEvra. Some pills just affect you that way. My sister takes Yasmin and has no side effects. I think it depends on the person's chemical makeup what side effects you will have on what pill.Is hair loss a more likely side effect of Yasmin than of other birth control pill brands?
haven't you heard on tv yasmin is bad and so is yaz! and this coming from a 12 year old!

Is my body reacting like this because of my birth control pills or because of my weight loss?
I always been irregular all my life and overweight. I was told because I'm irregular is because of me being overweight. Well, I had a gastric bypass 7 months ago and already lost 120 pounds. I'm still considered overweight but not obese. A month before surgery I got on birth control pills as advised by my doctors to avoid pregnancy after losing weight. I have been taking them religiously since then. The pills I was given to take is Seasonique. Ever since I started them I have had nonstop spotting or bleeding and here recently I've started to get cramps even when I'm not taking the ';yellow pills';. I was told the spotting is normal and will subside over time. I don't see it getting any lighter or even stopping. I have to wear a pad all the time 24/7. The type of bleeding I have is very dark brown and here recently I notice blood clotting coming out when I pee or on my pad. What do you think this coud be? Is it because I lost so much weight? Is it the pills? I feel like I'm getting worse because now I'm getting cramping and discomfort right in the center area of my pubic area. Not on the sides like normal pms cramping but in the center it feels like someone stabbing me. I made an appt. with my gyno. for next week but I'm just wondering what everyone elses thoughts on this. Anyone else had surgery and took these pills have similar issues? I tried searching online but can't find any links to the connection of my issues plus the surgery. Thanks in advance. =)Is my body reacting like this because of my birth control pills or because of my weight loss?
I haven't had surgery, but I'm on my second pack of Seasonique and have been bleeding for over a month. Not spotting, but heavy bleeding. My doctor told me the second pack would be better... which isn't the case, as I've been bleeding more than I did on the first pack. I've also had clotting , bloating and hardening of my abdomen, and crazy painful cramps even when I'm not on my period (like you said, stabbing pains)! My doctor said some women's bodies can't handle not having a period, which is what all of the breakthrough bleeding is... old blood that didn't come out when it naturally should have.
I'm currently away at school and I'm not able to see my regular gyno, so I'm getting a second opinion next week with a doctor here just to make sure something isn't wrong.
It's scary! I know and understand how you feel!Is my body reacting like this because of my birth control pills or because of my weight loss?
I haven't had this surgery before and I haven't taken that kind of birth control before, but have you considered taking a different kind of pill considering how much weight you have lost. When I got my birth control the lady told me she was giving me Lutera because its a low hormone pill sense I'm only 5'4';. Anyways I hope what I told you helped!!!remedy blackheads

I just ordered these 2 weight loss supplements, will these interfere with my birth control pills?
i just started taking birth control pills a couple days ago, and i ordered both acai berry 500 and total cleanse. total cleanse cleans ur colon, so maybe it'll interfere with my birth control pills. which im very worried about, im planning on combining these two diets. here is the site where i heard it from (but there is no contact address for questions):
http://dietstories.info/becky/
any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.I just ordered these 2 weight loss supplements, will these interfere with my birth control pills?
I would not take those two things together. Acai is a natural cleanse added with a colon cleanse your never going to get out of the bathroom. I just ordered these 2 weight loss supplements, will these interfere with my birth control pills?
Three steps that have really helped me are dieting, exercising, and the correct weight loss supplement for losing weight. Focus on those three things and you will lose weight considerably. I exercise 30 mins a day along with taking Proactol, a natural weight loss supplement that I saved money on at theweightlossplace.com
Good luck and stay focused = )
I'm sorry to say diet pills are the wrong way to go. If you ordered them get your money back. If you can't, don't take them. It will save you money in health problems later. If a doctor recommended them, get a 2nd opinion. The only sure, safe, and healthy way is diet and exercise.

Will my hair loss due to birth control pills eventually stop?
I have suffered from acne for about eleven years now and I am only 19... Ortho Tri Cyclen is the only thing that has ever been able to really help my skin...My hair has been thinning alot lately and I thought it was due to chemical damage but I just did some research and birth control can make your hair fall out. Does anyone know if after a few months of being on the pill the hair loss will stop? I just dont know what to do.. the pill reallly helps my skin but could be possibly ruining my hair... :(Will my hair loss due to birth control pills eventually stop?
Sorry, it is unlikely to stop.

HI
You have been given some good advice already but i just thought i would add a couple of things. Sometimes dear friend, hair loss is inavoidable, it is genetically predetermined. However, there are 2 minerals that have been proven to be in insufficient quantities when people experience sudden or unexplained hair loss. Zinc and selenium. In some countires (Like New Zealand) these minrerals do not occur naturally in our soil in vast amounts. Check your nails, if they have little white milk spots on them this can definately be a sign that you need these minerals
All the bestHow to control hair loss?
Rubbing of scalp
A vigorous rubbing of the scalp with fingers after washing the hair with cold water is one of the most effective among the several home remedies for the prevention and treatment of hair loss. The scalp should be rubbed vigorously till it starts to tingle with the heat. It will activate the sebaceous glands and energise the circulation of blood in the affected area, making the hair grow healthy.
Using amla oil
Amla oil, prepared by boiling dry pieces of amla in coconut oil, is considered a valuable hair tonic for enriching hair growth. A mixture of an equal quantity of fresh amla juice and lime juice, used as a shampoo also stimulates hair growth and prevents hair loss.
Using lettuce
Lettuce is useful in preventing hair loss. A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is believed to help the growth of hair if taken to the extent to half a litre a day
Using mustard oil and henna leaves
Mustard oil, boiled with henna leaves, is useful for healthy growth of hair. About 250 ml of mustard oil should be boiled in a tin basin. About sixty grams of henna leaves should be gradually put in this oil till they are burnt in the oil. The oil should then be filtered using a cloth and stored. Regular massage of the head with the oil will produce abundant hair.
Using coconut milk
The application of coconut milk all over the scalp and massaging it into the hair roots is also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss. It nourishes the hair and promotes hair growth. Coconut milk is prepared by grinding the coconut shavings and squeezing them well.
Using onion
Onion has also been found beneficial in patchy baldness. The affected part should be rubbed with onions morning and evening till it is red. It should be rubbed with honey afterwards.
Using other remedies
Daily application of refined coconut oil, mixed with lime water and lime juice on the hair, prevents hair loss and lengthens it. Application of the juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also considered beneficial. Washing the hair with a paste of cooked black gram and fenugreek lengthens the hair. Regular use of castor oil as hair oil helps the luxuriant growth of the hair.
Daily diet
The healthy condition of the hair depends, to a very large extent, on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in the daily diet. Persons with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and correct diet, made up of foods which, in combination, should supply all the essential nutrients. It has been found that a diet which contains liberal quantities of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits would provide adequate amounts of all the essential nutrients. Each food group should roughly form the bulk of one of the three principal meals. These foods should, however, be supplemented with certain special foods such as milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast and liver.
Don't overuse heated styling tools - all that straightening, waving and curling can worsen hair loss
Don't treat or colour your hair too frequently. This can cause
the hair to break off near the scalp. While it won't cause long-term hair loss, your tresses won't benefit from too many treatments
Hair is most vulnerable when it's wet and most likely to break off if you brush it during this time. Never brush wet hair; detangle it using a wide-toothed comb
You are what you eat - hair is made of protein, so it makes sense that this is key. Protein is predominantly found in meat and fish, pulses and soya, so stock up on these key foods for healthier locks
Drinking plenty of water will cleanse the body of impurities, providing optimum conditions for cell growth and follicles to flourish
Your hairdresser is the only person other than yourself who pays your hair regular attention. Make the most of your stylist's expertise and ask him to monitor the growth and development of your hair at each appointment
Choose your style carefully - tying the hair back in tight ponytails and plaits puts extra stress on the root, which often exacerbates hair loss

Arvind, it usually has to do with hormone levels and as you mature age wise.
There are herbal supplements you can take and herbal remedies that you can make and put on your hair; similar to the advice of using oil in your first answer. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is one good thing to use, but if you make a tea out of nettle it has some benefits, also. Use it like a rinse.
If you can afford to have your hormone levels checked you can find out what you're lacking and possibly get some supplements.
Good Luck!!
Stop touching your peepee? God is watching. Oh, isn't that going blind? Just embrace the fact that you are maturing. Depending on the severity of your condition, there are many over the counter solutions available. Check with your local pharmacist. If the problem is more severe you may want to obtain an Rx from your doc. There are also surgical implantations if you wish to explore those options. Lastly, if you have curly hair, you can clip hair from your nethers and use superglue.

Baldness or hair loss is usually something only adults need to worry about. But in a few cases, teens lose their hair, too 鈥?and it may be a sign that something's going on.
Hair loss during adolescence can mean a person may be sick or just not eating right. Some medications or medical treatments, like chemotherapy treatment for cancer, also cause hair loss. People can even lose their hair if they wear a hairstyle that pulls on the hair for a long time, such as braids.
Losing hair can be stressful during a time when you're already concerned about appearance. Most of the time, hair loss during the teen years is temporary. With temporary hair loss, the hair usually grows back after the problem that causes it is corrected.
Hair Basics
Our hair is made of a type of protein called keratin. A single hair consists of a hair shaft (the part that shows), a root below the skin, and a follicle, from which the hair root grows. At the lower end of the follicle is the hair bulb, where the hair's color pigment, or melanin, is produced.
Most people lose about 50 to 100 head hairs a day. These hairs are replaced 鈥?they grow back in the same follicle on your head. This amount of hair loss is totally normal and no cause for worry. If you're losing more than that, though, something might be wrong.
Alopecia
If you have hair loss and don't know what's causing it, talk to your doctor. A doctor can determine why the hair is falling out and suggest a treatment that will correct the underlying problem, if necessary.
What Causes Hair Loss?
Here are some of the things that can cause hair loss in teens:
* Illnesses or medical conditions. Endocrine (hormonal) conditions, such as uncontrolled diabetes or thyroid disease, can interfere with hair production and cause hair loss. People with lupus can also lose hair. The hormone imbalance that occurs in polycystic ovary syndrome can cause hair loss in teen girls as well as adult women.
* Medications. Some medications that have hair loss as a side effect may be prescribed for teens. These include acne medicines like isotretinoin, and lithium, which is used to treat bipolar disorder. Diet pills that contain amphetamines also can cause hair loss. Chemotherapy drugs for cancer are probably the most well-known medications that cause hair loss
* Alopecia areata. This skin disease causes hair loss on the scalp and sometimes elsewhere on the body. It affects 1.7% of the population, including more than 5 million people in the United States. Alopecia areata (pronounced: al-uh-pee-shuh air-ee-ah-tuh) is thought to be an autoimmune disease, in which the hair follicles are damaged by a person's own immune system. (In autoimmune diseases, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells, tissues, and organs in a person's body.) Alopecia areata usually starts as one or more small, round bald patches on the scalp. These can get bigger, and in a small number of cases, can progress to total hair loss. Both guys and girls can get it, and it often begins in childhood. The hair usually grows back within a year, but not always. Sometimes people with alopecia areata lose their hair again.
* Trichotillomania (pronounced: trik-o-til-uh-may-nee-uh). Trichotillomania is a psychological disorder in which people repeatedly pull their hair out, often leaving bald patches. It results in areas of baldness and damaged hairs of different lengths. People with trichotillomania usually need professional help from a therapist or other mental health professional before they are able to stop pulling their hair out.
* Hair treatments and styling. Having your hair chemically treated, such as getting your hair colored, bleached, straightened, or permed, can cause damage that may make the hair break off or fall out temporarily. Another type of baldness that results from hair styling actually can be permanent: Wearing hair pulled so tightly that it places tension on the scalp can result in a condition called traction alopecia. Traction alopecia can be permanent if the style is worn for a long enough time that it damages the hair follicles.
* Poor nutrition. Poor eating can contribute to hair loss. This is why some people with eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia lose their hair: The body isn't getting enough protein, vitamins, and minerals to sustain hair growth. Some teens who are vegetarians also lose their hair if they don't get enough protein from non-meat sources. And some athletes are at higher risk for hair loss because they may be more likely to develop iron-deficiency anemia.
* Disruption of the hair growth cycle. Some major events can alter the hair's growth cycle temporarily. For example, delivering a baby, having surgery, or going through a traumatic event can temporarily cause shedding of large amounts of hair. Because the hair we see on our heads has actually taken months to grow, a person might not notice any disruption of the hair growth cycle until months after the event that caused it. This type of hair loss corrects itself.
* Androgenetic alopecia. Among adults, the most common cause of hair loss is androgenetic (pronounced: an-druh-juh-neh-tik) alopecia, sometimes called male-pattern baldness. This condition is caused by a combination of factors, including hormones called androgens and genetics. Sometimes, the hair loss can start as early as the mid-teen years. It also can occur in people who take steroids like testosterone to build their bodies.
What Can Doctors Do?
If you see a doctor about hair loss, he or she will ask questions about your health and family health (called a medical history) and check your scalp. In some cases, the doctor might take hair samples and test for certain medical conditions that can cause hair loss.
If medication is causing hair loss, ask the doctor if you can take a different drug. If your hair loss is due to an endocrine condition, like diabetes or thyroid disease, proper treatment and control of the underlying disorder is important to reduce or prevent hair loss.
If your doctor recommends it, a product like minoxidil that can speed up hair growth also might be helpful. Alopecia areata can be helped by treatment with corticosteroids. If nutritional deficiencies are found to be causing your hair loss, the doctor might refer you to a dietitian or other nutrition expert.
Catastrophic Hair Loss
Hair loss can be the first outward sign that a person is sick, so it may feel scary. Teens who have cancer and lose their hair because of chemotherapy treatments (especially girls) might go through a difficult time.
It can help to feel like you have some control over your appearance when you're losing your hair. When getting chemotherapy, some people like to cut their hair or shave their heads before the hair falls out. Some even take the hair they cut off and have it made into a wig. Many options can help disguise hair loss 鈥?such as wearing wigs, hair wraps, hats, and baseball caps. For most teens who lose their hair, the hair does return 鈥?including after chemotherapy.
Taking Care of Your Hair
Eating a balanced, healthy diet is important for a lot of reasons, and it really benefits your hair.
If you're losing hair, some doctors recommend using baby shampoo, shampooing no more than once a day, and lathering gently. Don't rub your hair too vigorously with a towel, either. Many hair experts suggest you consider putting away the blow dryer and air drying your hair instead. If you can't live without your blow dryer, try using it on a low heat setting.
Style your hair when it's dry or damp. Styling your hair while it's wet can cause it to stretch and break. And try to avoid teasing your hair, which can cause damage. Finally, be careful when using chemicals 鈥?such as straighteners or color 鈥?on your hair, and avoid frequent use of chemical treatments.

Scared Shitless: Loss of Bowel Control?
I am not aware of consciously controlling my bowel movements. When I feel the call of nature I can resist for awhile before I must actually go and defecate, for example, when you have to wait on a line to get your opportunity to use the bathroom. I thought that the feeling of having to empty your bowels was an involuntary response that comes whenever it comes. So how can a sudden fright cause someone, a young healthy person (ex: a soldier in battle) to **** themself - unless they already had to go to the bathroom in the first place?Scared Shitless: Loss of Bowel Control?
I suppose that a person can get so upset they get diarrhea and then might be unable to control it. I have known people to develop ';nervous'; stomach disorders and then had to ';run'; to the bathroom...I assume they made it...but I know had there not been a bathroom nearby, they would have been in some serious troubleScared Shitless: Loss of Bowel Control?
I would have to say because of your emotional response to your sudden fright, example - the nervousness it must of caused you. I know I can be feeling just fine, and if I think about something upsetting, I get really nervous and just all of the sudden Im running to the bathroom. If I try and hold it, my stomach just gets worse until I do finally go.
Where do you think the phrase ';scared S****less comes from.
The colon is never completely empty, there are always wastes being processed...before you have the need to go.
So a person with a sudden fright can make a person have a sudden bowel movement.
I'm not really sure what your question is. But if you feel you cannot control your bathroom habits I would see your Dr. about it. I know when nature calls for me I better not wait to long either.

I am at a loss of what to do. Child out of control. I need serious advice!I NEED ADVICE DESPERATELY!?
My daughter just turned 17. I have had an on-going problem with her since she was in the 6th grade. That's when she started skipping school. I tried reaching out to her, and it didn't work. As a last resort I contacted her school, and let them know she's been skipping. I asked for help. They weren't able to get through to her.
Just yesterday DCF paid me a visit! I got a long speech, and was interrogated by them. They kept asking me why I didn't send her to school. I would go as far as dropping her off right in front of the school! But as soon as I pulled away from the school she left. I had to pay a pretty hefty fine from the courts!
If I confront her about anything she gets ridiculously mad. When she gets mad enough she loses all control, and it's like she doesn't feel pain. However, if she sees me crying she asks me what's wrong.
The other day she opened the car door while we were in traffic, and took off! PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE! I NEED IT DESPERATELY. I AM A SINGLE PARENT OF 4 KIDS.I am at a loss of what to do. Child out of control. I need serious advice!I NEED ADVICE DESPERATELY!?
You need professional help before it is too late for her and for you.I am at a loss of what to do. Child out of control. I need serious advice!I NEED ADVICE DESPERATELY!?
wow , that sucks !!!
it could be a lot of things , but as I read it I thought of something , it may be a reach but did you consider bipolar if someone in your or her dads family has it she could too , my ex has it and I was told to watch for it in my sons teen years , that's when the chemicals change and it starts to show.
Take her to a counselor and find out why she is doing these things, if you yourself have tried to do everything in your power to help her.. and she has been like this since 6th grade..something should have been done like this long ago!
Call DCFS and ask for help. Even if it means tough love, you need to get through to her.
YOU made your bed, now you have to lie in it.
This might sound harsh, but you need to set a limit for her. Compromise with her and make a deal. Say you can skip blank amount of days and if you don't like that than you can move out. If she doesn't respect your rules then she shouldn't be able to in your house. If she thinks she's good enough to skip school then she should be able to support herself. My mom did the same thing with my brother when he was about 17 or 18. She gave him a choice. Follow my rules or don't live in my house. I think the main thing you need to do in all of this is to make sure she knows you love her. Whatever happens, your daughter will grow up sometime. I hope this helps in some way.
If she is giving you such a hard time I would ask DCF for help..If they will, not go to the courts and ask for a chins to placed on her she will have to report to a probation officer once a week and show that she is going to school.Maybe having the chins on her will scare her enough to know you mean business. Also I would get her into some counseling. There is probably a lot going through her head right now and she doesn't know how to handle it. Good luck.
i feel for you. i wish i had the answer. all i can offer is distant advice. when you drop her off, make sure to follow up and call the school if you have to... or follow her into the school. don't allow her any privileges. physically restrain her if you have to - (learn how to do this appropriately) only as a last resort i.e. if she tries to fight you for keeping her home. also, get into counseling. try to learn to communicate better with each other. if all else fails - let her go. easier said then done, i guess. if you concern yourself with her every move - and question her - she may be annoyed, but she will feel loved.
good luck.
I am 17 i was the same way with my mother. Its like she does not appropriate you and the things you do for her and that you are a single mom raising her and her siblings. I would do what my mom did my mom kicked me out because i did not respect her. I learned a lesson and i learned at this age i need my mother. I now appropriate what my mom has done for me. She just needs to learn a lesson. Take it from someone who did.
My rule is you are either in school or have a FT job. I would also make her help pay back the fine. If she will listen explain if she doesn't go to school and drops out she will never have a good paying job, will not be able to afford nice clothes etc. You can also try PINS which is a program for at risk teens, it's like probation. Call the probation dept to find out more. I'm sorry she doesn't seem to realize how much you care. Keep trying some teens (like I was) are hard headed.

it could be a lot of things , but as I read it I thought of something , it may be a reach but did you consider bipolar if someone in your or her dads family has it she could too , my ex has it and I was told to watch for it in my sons teen years , that's when the chemicals change and it starts to show.
What are the various material losses in construction and how to control them?
The question is not for specific material. Please be specific.
HELP! I didn't spank my daughter, she's now 14 and a spoiled brat. Out of control. I am at a loss.?
I don't know if it was the way I parented her when she was little or what, that's really irrelevant now, I need to know what to do to help her. I can't afford councelling. she screams at me her father and her siblings. She punches and kicks the walls. She is nice to other people, just not us. If I tell her she can't do something, like use the phone, she throws a fit. I tell her to go to her room and she refuses, threatens to run away or tell people I hit her so they will take her away, which is a lie I do not hit her, she is just manipulating me. I had her hair highlighted and a french manicure before school starts and she doesn't appreciate anything I do. She is selfish and hates me. I love her even though she treats me this way and only want her to start behaving. The constant commotion from her upsets my other children and her dad wants to send her to a childrens home. I don't think a parent can send there kid to one though.
What would you do?HELP! I didn't spank my daughter, she's now 14 and a spoiled brat. Out of control. I am at a loss.?
She is still in your house and she's 14 you can beat her as* until she 18 she in your house she abound by your rules. No but whooping more attitude teach that girl a lesson with a belt
Hope this helps =]HELP! I didn't spank my daughter, she's now 14 and a spoiled brat. Out of control. I am at a loss.?
beating your daughter is only going to make her hate you more and then she would have legal grounds to call the cops and social services to report you for child abuse.
even if you can't send her to a home, maybe you should see if she could live with relatives for a while. someone who doesn't believe in giving her the extras like hair and manicures if she doesn't deserve them.
I'd see if you could send her to a home for a few weeks so she can see what it's like so she learns to appreciate what she's got. Also, she may need therapy. If you have health insurance, you more than likely also have mental health insurance covered under that.
well im 14 right now too but :
if i were her mom i would let her know who's boss, if she needs it, kick her azz, but also being 14 is a very hard time for a girl, with all that pressure at school with the other girls and just hanging out with friends

boot camp
Let her read all the answers! lol i just earned 2 points!
I think that she will continue her bad behavior until she is shown that is will not be tollerated. Maybe she needs to be smacked or grounded or have everything she loves taken away (phone, tv, etc.) As long as her actions are not reciprocated with punishment, she will continue to be bad.
They have these programs at most jails/prisons called Scared Straight. They take your unruly teen for the day and let her spend some time with inmates that show her what her actions will lead to if she doesn't take a step in the right direction. I've heard they work wonders.
If all else fails...beat her little ***! Even if she calls the cops, they are more understanding then you think.
Good luck!
It's not a question of affording counseling or not. You and she need to get professional help so that this problem can be dealt with in some reasonable and rational way. The fact that you did not spank your daughter when she was a child has nothing to do with the way she is behaving now. Spanking doesn't really achieve much in the long run.
Of course, it would help matters a great deal if you were to ask your daughter why she is so angry all the time and why she takes it out on you.
It would seem, sadly, that she has missed the 12 years of teaching, nurturing, etc. that you and your church/synagogue has provided her.
And, of course, she is a teenager ... but seemingly she is a very rebellious teen.
Likely you are obligated to provide shelter, food, and clothing.
Shelter -- so the rain and snow doesn't get in her room
food -- adequate and nourishing, but not necessary what she WANTS
clothing -- decent clothing, generic clothing. Not necessarily the latest 'fashion' or the expensive clothes.
Anything more that she wants, she can ';work for it'; [cell phones, ipods, etc., etc.,] or by her ';good'; attitude she can ';earn'; it [favorite desserts, occasional use of the family's television, etc.]
.
you need to talk to her school councelor about getting a referal to some professional help first of all. second of all...you do not have to spank her, but if I told her to go to her room and she refused I would drag her there by her ear. I have a son, and he knows when momma says something your reply yes mam, not because I spank him but because I put the fear of God in him. if she doesnt appreciate the things you do, DO NOT DO THEM. you will be suprised how much she will appreciate you when you make her find out what life would be like with out you. If she still throws her tantrum, and will not be have, take things away....I once emptied my sons entire room for three days and he slept in a sleeping bag on the floor until he EARNED his bed back...and slowly, through respecting me, and the things I had given him, he earned everything back. you have to be TOUGH, CONSISTANT, and IN CONTROL
if you say she can not....then you follow through
if you say you are going to send her to her room....you do it, you do NOT give warnings.
now....when she threatens to call the police....or child welfare....look up the number and give it to her....then hand her the phone, and let her know that if she feels its that bad then she can call...
if all else fails, you can try boot camp or a disciplinary school.
you need to let her know that your house is not a democracy, it is a dictatorship....and like China....she will get what her government(you) gives her. there are no other options.
I think unfortunetnly it is completely normal.
I went through a similar phase when I was a teen.
Right now, my sister is 15 and she treats my mother HORRIBLY! I mean my mother does EVERYTHING for her, which she can't afford already, and the poor woman not only doesn't get any respect she gets no thanks. It seems that your situation and my sisters (and my situation once) are competely alike.
It is all about control. She's getting older and less controllable, and that makes the parent want to control them more. So both parties fight for control and it's really just a giant vicious circle.
Eventually I grew out of it and realized my mum only wanted the best for me. We are now waiting for my sister to outgrow it.
spanking a child is awful! It would not help....but it sounds like she has problems, with you and your family at least, and i fel bad for you, but I do not have much advice...do not hurt her, but cease buying or doing nice things for her, and she will miss those things, and learn to appreciate them. Just tell her you do care about her, talk to her too...good luck

Eating what you want w/ porton control VS. restricting certain foods... which works better for weight loss?
Whats more effective??? eating any food you want, but in small portions... or only eating ';diet'; food and larger amounts???Eating what you want w/ porton control VS. restricting certain foods... which works better for weight loss?
restriction
reasons:
#1 healthier
#2 Quality Calories
#3 you FEEL better
#4 Certain foods cannot be processed by our bodies (via digestion)
#5 I said so =X (okay not really a point, but i wanted to have 5 points OKAY?? =[ )Eating what you want w/ porton control VS. restricting certain foods... which works better for weight loss?
As always, different methods work for different people.
Eating any food you want, but in small portions:
pro: You're developing the healthy habit of listening to your body and its cravings and stopping when you're full. I believe this is the ideal solution to all weight issues.
cons: You might not be capable of controlling your portions when faced with a favorite food.
Only eating ';diet'; food and larger amounts
pros: You feel more satisfied with the larger volume of food. Your body benefits from the nutrition and will adjust your body to want more healthy food.
cons: You may feel unhappy and deprived because you're restricting yourself from your favorite ';junk'; foods. This is a huge reason for why diets fail.
So my solution would be to do both: Generally eat foods that are healthy and nutritious. If you want an ';unhealthy'; or ';junk'; food, eat a little so you don't keep craving it.
if you're eating small portions of junk, then your body is not getting what it needs.. so I would say that large portions of healthy foods is better than small portions of junk.. if you really want to lose weight, use www.fitday.com and track your calories and try to keep an even balance of protein calories, carb calories, and fat calories..

Did any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?
A few times it happened to me that after I stopped taking bcp,I noticed hair loss and was really devastated due to inability to find a proper treatment for my hair, and doctors only blame stress for it. I recently stopped Yasmin(3 weeks ago) and noticing some hair loss.
Any advice? PleaseDid any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?
Normal Hair Growth Cycle
The hairs on your head do not all grow at the same time in the exact same way. There are 3 stages in the hair growth cycle. In the Anagen stage the hairs grow. This stage can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years and affects about 85% of your hairs at any given time. In the Catagen stage also known as the transition stage - the time between growth and rest. In this stage only about 1% of your hair and only lasts about 2 weeks. Many professionals combine this stage with the Telogen or resting stage. The Telogen stage affects only about 15% of your hairs and can last up to 6 weeks.
Hormonal Effects on Hair Loss
Hormone levels can affect hair loss in the following manner. They can cause hair loss to happen more quickly. Hormones can also accelerate hair growth of a large number of hairs at once and some months later go into the resting stage and fall out.
Estrogens during pregnancy extend the growth stage. Months after delivery the hairs that grew will all go into the resting stage and then fall out. The hairs will return to the normal growth pattern eventually.
Birth Control-Oral Contraceptive Effects
Hormone Replacement Therapy - HRT hormones contain estrogens. These can as has been mentioned accelerate the growth stage. You may find that a few months after starting HRT that your hairs begin to fall out giving the appearance of hair loss. The hairs that grew all at the same time will also go into the resting stage and eventually fall out. This will eventually end and hair will return to the normal growth cycle.
Birth Control in the form of oral contraceptives in younger women will act like HRT does in older women. If you are a younger woman you may not notice the hair growth necessarily because younger women generally have thicker hair. They will however, notice the hair loss that will likely occur a few months down the road after beginning the use of oral contraceptives.
If you are concerned about this pattern of hair loss consult your doctor. It is not recommended at this point to stop the hormones because a couple of months after you stop them you will still lose hair.
Conclusion
Hormones whether they are a result of pregnancy or Hormone Replacement Therapy will affect the normal hair growth pattern. Estrogens (female hormones) can speed up hair growth of many hairs all at once. At the end of pregnancy or some months later the hair that grew will go into rest and fall off. This is not a permanent condition as hair will return to the normal cycle eventually. Hair loss (from) birth control does happen but doesn't last forever.Did any of you have hair loss issue due to stopping birth control? If so,what did you do to help it?

I am 18 years old, i have a problem of loss of hair and whitening of hair how to control this???
my hair has been started whitening from my 15 years and loss started recentlyI am 18 years old, i have a problem of loss of hair and whitening of hair how to control this???
Here is my hair loss advice :
Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine庐 ) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.
My hair only started visibly growing on the bald spot after skeptically trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info
I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. But remember this isn't a miracle cure for baldness as you will also need to put in some effort in order to see results. And its only a minimum commitment of 15 minutes a day to help re-grow your lost hair.
Anyway, its also a cheaper and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.

Daily application of refined coconut oil, mixed with lime juice on the hair, prevents hair loss and lengthens it. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info. Check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info on gray hair.
Go to a salon and get it dyed the color you want it to be.

Weight loss (or gain) after stopping birth control?
I started Yaz about 4 months ago, and have also been traveling abroad.
I have gained weight (about 6 pounds or more) here, and I'm not sure whether or not its from the birth control or from change in eating habits etc.
Either way, (had I gained the weight from BC), is it likely that when I go off the pill that I will automatically lose weight (the weight I potentially gained from it) ?
(Has anyone had an experience with BC that when they went off of it they GAINED weight?)
Thank you!Weight loss (or gain) after stopping birth control?
When I went on Yaz I had no weight gain, but I went off it about 3 months ago after taking it for about 7 years and I have gained about 6-8 pounds and can't seem to lose the weight. I have always exercised, always eaten pretty healthfully...the only thing different is me not taking the pill. I went to the doctor because Im so bloated I thought I was pregnant even though the test was negative...and my period was 6 weeks late. She said when you go off the pill it is normal for your hormones to be out of whack and your body will eventually regulate itself. Still, the weight gain sucks.

Anxiety & loss of focus due to birth control?
I started taking birth control pills (Ortho-Novum 1/35) last sunday and ended on wednesday, which meant I was only on it for 4 days, taking only 4 pills total. I stopped because I got a severe panic attack after taking the 4th pill, and also a feeling of being disoriented.
I heard it was bad to stop taking the pill in the middle of the pack, but there was no way I was going to take another one, it scared me so badly.
After the panic attack, I felt fine, but then it would come in waves. I started crying and thinking there was something wrong with me, like as if I was going to die or something. I slept fine that night and the next day I also felt fine until night came. I got panicky but more mild than before. I'm not even sure what I'm panicking over, its pretty much panicking over panicking.
Now its Sunday, and it has been a NIGHTMARE. The same feeling keeps coming back and its preventing me from doing normal day routines. I can't even drive anymore, I feel scared that I'm going to have a panic attack, or I feel like I can't focus. I might even drop my summer college class because I feel that I'm going to start freaking out in the middle of class.
I was driving earlier and I felt so disorientated. It felt like I was driving really slow, when really I was driving 35 mph. Or it also felt like I was driving but staying in the same place. It made me so dizzy and out of focus that I had to pull over %26amp; take deep breaths.
I just don't feel like how I use to anymore. Its really taking a toll on me and I've also been crying because I just want to escape this horrible feeling. I can't enjoy anything anymore. I feel like crying as I am writing this.
I have also been losing my train of thought more easily.. Like I just can't focus. Its really hard to explain.
Is this because of my hormones changing? But how much can 4 pills really do? its been days since I stopped and I'm still getting horrible side effects. I'm going to the doctors tomorrow.. But I would just like some feedback.. I feel like i'm losing my mind.Anxiety %26amp; loss of focus due to birth control?

Please can anyone Explain the mechanisms of energy loss that assist in controlling body temperature?
I think you need to be more clear, or we can't help you with your homework. Do you mean like Convection (sweating). Or Expelling heat through breathing. Or heat loss through you head? Please can anyone Explain the mechanisms of energy loss that assist in controlling body temperature?
Sweating. As it is evaporated some body heat is used up cooling us down
Capillary bed dilation. We become flushed. Heat can radiate outPlease can anyone Explain the mechanisms of energy loss that assist in controlling body temperature?
Convection, conduction, evaporation, and radiation.
For what reason do you ask?
And the 4 above do not ';control' body temp, they are mechanisms of heat loss.
Your body temp is controlled intrinsically, and is affected by external factors.

Going on birth control..dont want increased hair loss...?
I'm 21 years old and I've never been on BC before (just condom use and such) but I'm in a serious relationship now and really wanna go on BC. See, even though I've never been on any hormonal BC, for the last 4 years I have been experiencing hair loss. Not sure why because I got blood work done and everything was normal (including my thyroid %26amp; hormones). Went to the derm. and she doesn't know what the problem is either.
I went to the OBGYN and got Nuva Ring samples..not hearing good things about the ring. So I'm thinking maybe the pill would be best? But then again that seems to be bad for hair loss too.
What would be the best choice for me? There are so many BC pills I dunno what to pick. And my OBGYN knew nothing about BCPs and hair loss of course.
Is there anyway a BC could HELP my current hair loss problem, maybe I have an underlying hormonal problem that wont come up in blood work?
What would be best for me? I was thinking Yaz?
THanks!Going on birth control..dont want increased hair loss...?
Just to share : Been on minoxidil for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.
My hair only started visibly growing after doubtfully trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info
I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now.
Anyway, its also a cheaper and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.Going on birth control..dont want increased hair loss...?
Find a doc who can advise and check with them for more info. Then you can always go back to your gyn and ask them for that type of pill/ring. I'm not familiar with hair loss, but in general, you can try a birth control and if you don't like it, switch. Just keep in mind that the first month of a new birth control, you won't have as much protection and will have to use a backup method of protection (ex: condoms, which your bf should be using anyways just because birth control isn't 100% effective anyway and offers no protection against diseas or infections.)

Isnt wrestling completely unfair? i mean a wrestler has no control over improving his/her win loss record.?
the wrestlers are told to lose or win a match, so technically being a 10 time champ like hhh doesnt mean a thing. true or false?Isnt wrestling completely unfair? i mean a wrestler has no control over improving his/her win loss record.?
True and it is not what I would like to see. It all started in the WWF days. When certain wrestlers needed fame and popularity to make the big bucks for the Federation, like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Bret Hart and so on....Isnt wrestling completely unfair? i mean a wrestler has no control over improving his/her win loss record.?
Its a show....not a real competitive sport.
If professional wrestling entertainment was competitive and not entertainment, then it would be completely unfair.
But it's not competitive, it is nearly completely scripted. And yes, every wrestler's championship reigns mean something. True, champions are chosen, but they only last as long as a fued or series of matches interests the fans, or until the next new things come along. If floks didn't either love or love to hate HHH, he wouldn't have been champion as many times as he has.
To me it's no different than watching your favorite prime time drama, or cartoon on saturday, or reading a book of fiction, or watch a movie on the big screen. Technically, all of those are fake, made up, with a pre-determined ending. But they can be enjoyable.
Take it all with a grain of salt and just enjoy the mayhem.
TRUE. Absolutely.
I think it's fan based if they love you or they hate you whatever gets the fans into it
that is why it is sports entertainment.
It would be interesting to know the inside politics of wrestling.
oh freakin well. HHH is awesome and is gonna kick your @$$!!!!
i think that the backstage stuff is staged but i dont think that the matches are fixed

I need info on post pardon loss of bladder and bowel control. PLEASE HELP!!!?
I gave birth last Friday night and have been able to use the bathroom perfectly fine ever since. Last night I had some pains on my lower left side, they weren't intense, more like uncomfortable, but when I woke up this morning I found that I peed the bed, I felt absolutely no sensation that I had to pee, and my bowels feel numb, or like I wouldn't be able to pass stool. They've told me that it is normal to lose control since the uterus is contracting back to normal and that my muscles have to recover. But it has been almost a week and I was fine until now, does anyone know if it is still normal or if I should get it checked out? I really don't wanna go to the hospital just for them to send me home and say I'm fine I have a lot of sleep to catch up on. Any info is appreciated.I need info on post pardon loss of bladder and bowel control. PLEASE HELP!!!?
Why would you go to the hospital when you can just call your doctor?I need info on post pardon loss of bladder and bowel control. PLEASE HELP!!!?
My youngest is 7 and I still have no control over my bladder. I pee everytime I cough or sneeze. It's embarrassing when I'm around people. I've never had problems with my bowels though.
Drink over 2 litres of water during the day and then none after 5pm. Do you eat enough fibre?
You may also need to exercise your kegel (don't know who its spelt) muscles.

How can the Republicans call the loss of a House seat they have controlled for 100yrs a Victory?
It wasn't the Republicans but the new political party, Conservative Republicans of America Party. And they have a party symbol too, the Democrats have a Donkey, the Republicans an elephant and the C R A have a hippo because it's an animal that survives just find fully submerged in De-Nial.How can the Republicans call the loss of a House seat they have controlled for 100yrs a Victory?
Republicans aren't. Conservatives are.
That it has been held by Republicans for so long is not indicative of a victory for Democrats. That a third party candidate came within 2-3% points of beating TWO major party candidates should be a wake-up call to both the Republicans and the Democrats.
The 23rd district is more moderate over history. Given state politics, they have to be. This was not a vote of endorsment for Democrats; it was a warning to the establishment. How can the Republicans call the loss of a House seat they have controlled for 100yrs a Victory?
We haven't, so to claim we do is to spew idiocy.
What it was was a victory of the grassroot conservative GOP party base rejecting the ';go along to get along'; RINO Democrat-lite party line that caused the party to lose power the past two election cycles.
The GOP has only won and governed well when it embraces conservatism.
This was a wake-up call by the party base to the party leaders that they need to change their tune, or they will all be out of jobs.
Republican governors won TWO states that Obama won just last year. And this happened after all the Obama-worshippers had declared the Republican party ';over';. Obama campained for the two Democrat candidates in both states, and even then, Republicans still won. That's telling.
You do realize that more people voted against that guy in NY than for him, right? The third party candidate was on his butt with 45% and the Republican got 6%. Dude won with less than 50% of the vote. Very encouraging stuff for the Dems... NOT.
2012 is closer than you think.
Same way Liberals call Obama winning a victory for America.
You beat a 3rd party candidate not a Republican.
Wanna cookie with cream on it?
Because they are idiots?
Easy...they were all Rino's anyway. Its a lib district.

What is the best birth control pill for weight loss?
I am going back on the pill and I am very worried about gaining weight because I struggle with keeping my weight where it's at now. I am very active and watch what I eat. I used to be on yasmin and I don't remember having any side effects with that.
My doctor now prescribed me with loestrin 24fe and I was wondering what peoples experience with that was - weight gain.... weight loss and would they recommend it? any help would be appreciated- thanks! What is the best birth control pill for weight loss?
Hi there, im on loestrin and its quite a good one i think. only on a low dose though. and i have gained a few punds though ... not much though. What is the best birth control pill for weight loss?
so cautious it's abt been healthy gal nt skinny,..! i knw my advice is like a **** to u ,.! thanxx 4 dat,.
It varies from woman to woman and pill to pill. I lost a ton of weight on Ortho Tri cyclen and kept a steady weight on desogen. But gained horribly on Mirena (IUD) and Depo (shot)
The pill itself doesn't make you gain weight, it's because it increases your appetite which makes you want to eat more.
However, there are other contraceptives which don't have this side-effect. The mini-pill is one, then there's the contraceptive injection, the coil and of course condoms.
If you have concerns I would talk through your options with your doctor, and from there you can decide on the best form of contraception for you.
Hope this helps!
Rosie xx
You only gain weight because it says its possible. You look in the mirror and one day you may look ';bigger'; than usual and you think its the pill's fault. The Pill doesn't make you gain weight, it can simply increase of decrease your appetite, obviously if you gain weight its cos you've been hungry a bit more.
I would ask your doctor to go back on Yasmin if you had good experiences with it and you would like to.. All you have to do is ask them directly and she'll write you an Rx for what you really wanted. I have been on yasmin for 5 years and I really like it. no weight gain, very little bloating, etc.. as opposed to some of my other friends that have had that problem with other types of bc, shots, pills, etc.
i was going to recommendd yasmin...why did you stop taking that...i like it
I take Loestrin 24 Fe. I love it. I have taken it for 3 years and have not gained weight, or had any sort of side effect at all.

Lack of bladder control in exercise.... (weight loss related???)?
I lost a lot of weight over the last year while struggling with anorexia. I am now back to a normal weight, but find that when I exercise, I lose control of my bladder. I don't know whether this is related in anyway. The biggest problem comes when I have to do any sort of jumping. I even make sure before I excerise that I really don't need to pee...and I don't, but when I start jumping around, I start to pee slightly. I'm young (only 17) so it's not age related. Any suggestions? Comments??? Please help!!Lack of bladder control in exercise.... (weight loss related???)?

Can the birth control pill make weight loss harder?
This is my first time on the pill (I just started taking Yasmin) and have gained a little weight. I have started exercising and watching what I'm eating, but it's not working the way it always has in the past when I've put on a few pounds. I want to stop the weight gain now while it's still a small amount but it seems like nothing is working. Could the pill be sabotaging my efforts? Thanks! Can the birth control pill make weight loss harder?
Yes. Many women experience weight gain as a side-effect of taking the birth control pill.
The average weight gain is 4 pounds - generally in the first three months.
Progestogen is thought to be the link between the pill and weight gain, and much depends on how the individual reacts to it.
But any weight gain caused by the contraceptive pill is generally fairly modest and unlikely to be greater than 4-6 pounds. Can the birth control pill make weight loss harder?
I've heard it can make it harder to lose weight, and also that it can make it difficult to maintain a high percentage of muscle mass. I don't know if that's true though. It could just be in our heads!

Starting Birth Control To Cure Hair Loss ?
my testosterones a little high my dr told me to go on birth control pills.
I started losing hair and had a high testosterone last yr after i stopped orthro tri cyclin.
He says the only way to get your testosterone balanced is to shut down your ovaries and that would mean taking birth control pills.
He said TAKE EM !!!
I'm really scared to because i barely have any hair left it keeps falling out sooooo much. I lost more than half. What should i do.Starting Birth Control To Cure Hair Loss ?
no! better do not take birth control pills!!!!!!!!!!!
as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few.
year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.
the things that really worked for me was:
1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;
2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;
4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);
5) also he used herbal treatment - TrichoZed or/and Provilluss (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)
Those are a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry TrichoZed but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!
good luck!

Birth control and weight gain/loss?
So I'm going to be out on birth control for my acne. I don't know what kind of birth control I will be put on, but I am very worried about weight gain. I just started to work out and start eating healthier because I want to tone up my body. but I'm afraid that my plan might backfire because of the birth control. I know that I'm going to be given pills but should I ask my doctor if I need fluid pills? Or will I still be loosing weight if I work out on a regular bases. I'm a bit concerned about weight gain because I'm short and If I gain 3 kilograms I look like a fat whale. Does anybody know of a birth control that makes you stay the same weight or actually let you loose weight? I heard that birth control just increases your appetite so maybe I'm just getting over worked for no reason?Birth control and weight gain/loss?
If you're already working out, I wouldn't worry. Just keep with it, it doesn't happen to everyone. Just keep with eating healthy and working out a nd you should be fine.Birth control and weight gain/loss?
well im on birth control and as far as i know every type makes you gain but its only because of appetite. So i only gained a couple of pumds, I wouldnt get overworked about it though. Just keep working out and it shouldnt be a problem
Every woman reacts differently to the Pill, but it generally makes you gain weight. The way the Pill works is that it releases a hormone that makes your body believe that it's pregnant, so you won't get your period. You take the pill with this hormone in it for 3 weeks, and then the last week you take a placebo pill that doesn't contain the hormone, making you get your period for a week. Then you start over on the hormone pills.
The hormone makes your body react as if it were pregnant, which includes weight gain. The hormones released during pregnancy has also been known to make women's skin clearer, which is why you're on the pill.
About your worries about weight gain, it's not that big of a deal. I only gained about 5 pounds, but then I switched my prescription and I'm on a different pill, which is actually making me lose that weight. So it depends on your body and the type of birth control that you're on.
But if you work out consistently I don't think it should affect you that much. And honestly, what's a little weight compared to the effects of unsafe sex?
Hope I helped :)
