I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
3 months ago I weighed 137 now I am down to 124 lbs. I have done nothing different really other then not eating or drinking sugar. Do you think this can be a cause for my unexplained weight loss I haven't weighed this amount since I was 15 and now I am 26. I have been laying around the house for 6 months due to not having a job and watching my children, I'd think I would be gaining weight b/c I get no exercise. What do you think?I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
Sugars negative effects on the liver and kidney can cause people who do not increase calories to gain weight as well as retain alot of water.
My guess is that since you cut it out of your diet, you probably lost alot of water that your body was retaining in order to help your organs dilute the sugar. Since you are no longer consuming sugar, you no longer need to retain the extra water.I have type 2 diabetes (diet controlled) is that a reason for my unexplained weight loss?
The fact that you are losing weight while on zoloft is interesting as it normally causes people to gain weight.
People start becoming insulin resistant prior to becoming diabetic (diabetes is an extreme case of insulin resistance), and it is the high levels of insulin in the body that cause people to gain weight. This is why people who are type 2 diabetic and take insulin often gain even more weight. Until the high levels of insulin in their body are corrected, most people find it difficult if not impossible to lose weight.
Sounds like you might have reversed the insulin resistance and gotten the cells to be insulin sensitive again.
Are you also on a low carb diet? That usually helps with insulin problems.
Yes it is quite possible that you have lost about 1lb a week if you have cut out sugar. It is also possible if your blood sugar levels are not controlled well then that might be the cause. Check your glucose levels and if they are high you need to talk to your doctor about it. It would probably help you control your diabetes if you got some exercise why not take the kids for a walk or to the park and play ball, you may even lose some more weight and may be able to control your diabetes by diet alone. Good luck and well done on the weight loss.

Are you checking your glucose levels? or just not drinking sugars? and are you doing anything about the starchy carbohydrates in your food plan or just eating them?
I recommend you go see your doctor if you aren't checking your glucose levels, eating a very low carb food plan and exercising! The unexplained weight loss is NOT in control of your glucose levels!
Most probably, your weight loss is due to your effective diet control and on zoloft for correcting the chemical imbalance in the brain. If you feel more comfortable with 124 lbs., then why worry about it? For your peace of mind, please see a doctor for more consultations. Good luck to you and God bless.
Yes, it certainly could be. You need to go visit the doctor again and have your blood sugar tested. It could just be from cutting out sugar - but you should go get checked. Do you test your own blood sugar? If not, you should be doing that. You might need to adjust your meds.
Exercise and eating right can totally REVERSE type 2 diabetes.
maybe 124 is a better weight for you.

I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
Vitamin B supplements... L-carnitine and exercise.I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
Plenty of exercise and frequently.I am on a calorie controlled diet. what can boost my weight loss further?
colonic irrigation
I suggest that you do the 6 o'clock diet.
Don't eat anything (except drinking water) after 6pm
since your body doesn't work that much after that time so you don't have enough activities to burn your calories for the day.
Also, eat fruits and vegetables.
Fiber helps eliminate waste and makes you lose your weight.
Likewise, instead of eating nachos for snack, try to eat fruits (pineapple, mango, apple, etc.)
Walking is also a good exercise.
Try walking around every morning.
If the place you're going to is near, try to walk from your home.
Or you may walk part of it then take a ride after (if it is really far).
It might be difficult at first, but it's all worth it.
:)
Try eating more negative calories food. They are food which contain so few calories that your body will burn more calories just for digesting them.
At least eat food consisting of negative calories ingredients for lunch or dinner once a day.
Here's my negative calories sandwich recipe:
'; Ingredients:
100 grams of cooked chicken fillet. Cut it so that it can be fitted into sandwiches.
2 slices of whole wheat bread. Slice it diagonally.
Four slices of tomatoes. Cut the tomatoes vertically, each cut is around 0.5cm in thickness
1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
4 tablespoons of low fat mayonnaise
2 slices of cucumber. Peel the cucumber and remove both end. Then slice it.
1 teaspoon of chopped celery
1 teaspoon of olive oil
3 tablespoons of plain low fat yogurt
Salt, pepper and tomato ketchup to taste
Instructions:
Sprinkle the cooked chicken fillet with salt and pepper. Then mix the yogurt, mayonnaise and lemon juice in a bowl. Dip each chicken pieces into the dressing mix before putting it on the bread. Then arrange the cucumber, tomatoes and celery on the bread neatly. Last, sprinkle it with the olive oil and the remaining of the dressing. ';
Remember a diet will help you loose weight but when finished it will pile back on again - you need to completely change you eating plan for ever.
excersize and drinking lots of water.
p.s. negative calories dont exist. its marketing
exercise. increase your activity
Running and swimming.

Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
Hi there. I just began taking Paxil CR (Controlled Release) 12.5.
I was wondering if anyone can share their personal experiences with Paxil CR in regards to their appetite?
Did it make you hungrier? Did you eat more?
Did it decrease your appetite? Did you loose weight?
If anyone can share I would love to know.
Thanks.Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
I gained - a lot.
no control over cravings....
I'm tapering off now....
good luck.Paxil CR (Controlled Release) - Weight Gain or Loss?
yeah i take it and have for quite awhile....you will notice no difference at all!
i take 20 mg of paxil a day in the morning, i have't noticed any extreme side affect, i felt happier within the first week, i feel almost giddy and happy all the time now and I find myself laughing a lot more, it's a great med, i don't know if i gained any weight, my clothes fit stll, so if i did it was a little
In general, when you take psychotropic medication, it is a good idea to also exercise. If you are not used to exercising, it can be simply taking a 30-minute walk (or two 15-minute ones). If not daily, then 3-4 times a week. Just stay active. Cleaning the house counts, as well. Physical activities, like walking, exercising, or riding a bike complement the drug and helps your mental well-being.
I tried to Google and find you an answer. There is a lot of information out there. So much so, that all that I can recommend is that you talk to your pharamsist and request a list of side-effects that Paxil-CR might have. And you may even ask them to explain it. (As well, read the insert. If anybody should know, then it would be the manufacturer.) I did see something, on various sites, about weight changes. From personal experience, I took Paxil many years ago, and I didn't notice a severe weight gain.
That is not the case with the medication that I currently take. All I have to say, is that I wish the Psychiatrist would have warned me about the increase in appetite, so that when the urge to snack hits 20-30 minutes after I take my medication, I could've been prepared to ignore it.
I hope that this will work out for you. Good luck!
I take Paxil. You might gain just a few pounds.I gained 3 pounds .No big deal. And it doesnt make me pig out.I take 10 mgs. once a day.Dont worry too much!! Take Care

The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?

If this is 'progress' then whats the springboard for government-run healthcare, off-track betting? The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?
Why, you have a point there, Oblio! If we followed the republican approach, GM would have been bankrupted, sold off, shut down and out of business.
Instead, they used a brief bankruptcy to clean house, took a much smaller loss than in previous quarters, and their plan to return to profitability is on track and measurable. And they will begin repaying their loan next year. The Obama administration-controlled GM says a loss is 'Progress'?
Everyone should know by now that this administration is bassackwards. Jobs created has turned into jobs saved, apologize and bow to terrorist, no more terrorist only democratically challenged, no more war on terror and the cops act stupidly among a never ending list of stupid liberal tricks. Obama has brought you change, change from logical and intelligent thinking and reasoning to rampant stupidity and political correctness. If we can ever get this crew gone liberalism should be made a capital offense.
This administration spins everything like a ballerina. As for ';numbers line';...a loss is a LOSS.
Show a profit or get the hell out of the business.
This is OUR money they are losing now.
Doesn't he usually say things like ';Loss is progress?'; And have thousands of liberals going ';Uh huh!'; and shaking their heads in agreement?
You libs! Still taking up for this loser, i don't care if GM showed a loss for 30 years. Back then my tax dollars weren't being used to prop it up and keep the bleeding unions viable!!!!!
To liberals, if a train going 100mph toward a cliff slows to 50mph toward a cliff......that is progress.
Yes, they think rising unemployment is an improvement too.
Yes, in fact Orwell predicted this sort of thing in his novel _1984_ it is what he called ';double-speak';.
So you would only be happy with GM's performance if they showed a profit, even though they have been showing losses for 30+ years?
It's a smaller loss.
Did you have problems with the Number Line in grade school?
